TAMPA — A fire that destroyed a shed behind a Tampa home Wednesday was intentionally set, according to Tampa Fire Rescue reports.
The fire broke out about 9:16 a.m. Wednesday behind the home at 216 S Malcolm Court.
An investigation determined that someone walked through an alleyway adjacent to the home and entered the back yard through a through a chain-link gate, officials said. Once inside, someone started the blaze by pouring a flammable liquid on the side of the shed and igniting it.
Firefighters were called and quickly extinguished the flames. A person inside the shed suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene, fire officials said.
Damage from the fire was estimated at $5,500.
