TAMPA — Hazardous materials officials from Tampa Fire Rescue investigated a gas leak at a home Monday morning.

A gas line about 1 1/2 inches in width was accidentally cut by a worker under the home at 2811 N 18th St. just before 10 a.m., fire rescue officials said.

Authorities tried to evacuate nearby houses, but they were already vacant.

Tampa Electric workers arrived at the scene to repair the line. No injuries were reported.
