Florida Sheriffs Association announces support of 'stand your ground'

The Florida Sheriffs Association announced Friday that it supports the "stand your ground" law, saying it falls in line with the "well-established" right to self-defense.

The state's sheriffs voted unanimously this week in favor of supporting the law, which has been especially controversial since the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.

Previously, the group has opposed the National Rifle Association's attempt to push through an open-carry law.
