TARPON SPRINGS —Investigators are trying to identify what appear to be human bones found in a wooded area where homeless people camp.
The Tarpon Springs Police Department received a call about the discovery at 6:11 a.m. Monday from a homeless person who was looking for a place to camp.
The location is an isolated wooded area not visible from roads or trails, just inside Anderson Park off U.S. 19, police said in a news release.
None of the evidence immediately recovered shows signs of foul play, police said. The cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner's office.
Police have a tentatyive identification and are working to confirm it.
