WESLEY CHAPEL — One person died after their vehicle plunged into a body of water, according to Pasco County Fire Rescue.
The incident took place near the intersection of State Road 54 and Gateway Boulevard. Firefighters arrived at the scene at about 8:35 a.m.
Firefighters entered the water and tried to rescue the sole occupant of the vehicle, officials said. But that person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials released no other details about the incident, including what happened or the name of the person who died.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
