One person found dead at scene of Spring Hill house fire

No cause of death or identity has been released for the person, who county authorities called a "victim."

SPRING HILL — Fire crews found one person dead at the scene of a Thursday night house fire, according to Hernando County officials.

A neighbor called to report the fire at 2050 Laredo Ave. just after 8 p.m., according to Hernando County Fire Rescue. Neighbors believed nobody was home, because the resident's car was gone.

But crews found one dead person on site within minutes of arriving, according to the county. The fire was under control within nine minutes, and no other injuries or damage were reported.

Though identified as a "victim" by the county, the person's identity has not been released, nor has a cause of death.
