SPRING HILL — A 2-year-old boy drowned in his family's above-ground pool on Tuesday evening, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

Three 2-year-old boys have now drowned in Pasco County in a span of 34 days.

Tuesday's incident started when the boy was playing outside in the family's yard with his 6-year-old sibling. Their parents heard the 6-year-old screaming, deputies said, and when they went outside found the 2-year-old floating in the pool.

The incident was reported at 5:35 p.m. Pasco County Fire Rescue paramedics were called to the scene and rushed the boy to a local hospital.

The boy was pronounced dead shortly after 6 p.m., the Sheriff's Office said. Deputies are now investigating his death.

The incident took place in the 14900 block of Little Ranch Road in the Shady Hills area near the Pasco-Hernando county line.

On May 12, Pasco deputies arrested the mothers of the two boys who died in drowning incidents that took place last month.

Selina Ann Warner, 26, was arrested on a charge of child neglect with serious injury after Pasco deputies said her 2-year-old son, Justice Rae, climbed out of his crib on April 20, managed to leave their New Port Richey house and fell into a pond next door.

The boy died five days later of complications from drowning, according to her arrest report.

Roxann Potts, 27, was arrested on a charge of child neglect with serious injury for the April 27 death of her 2-year-old son Clayton Foskey, who deputies said wandered away from his Hudson home and drowned in a nearby creek.
