Police officer Rich Edmonds found a crying 6-year-old on the north part of Clearwater Beach.

She'd wandered away from her family. She had just gone up to strangers for help when Edmonds swooped in.

Frightened, the little girl didn't want to get into the police car. Edmonds took the girl's hand as they walked about a half mile until they found her family.

A beach-goer snapped a picture that the Clearwater police shared on social media on Friday.

It's gaining a lot of attention online, because it's probably the sweetest thing you'll see today.
