Physician's assistant arrested at gated Carrollwood home on meth trafficking, heroin charges

TAMPA — A physician's assistant faces charges including trafficking in methamphetamine and heroin possession after a search of his home in a gated Carrollwood community turned up drugs and $7,400 in cash, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

Anthony Loren Yarand, 38, of 2633 Milford Berry Lane in the Carrollwood Retreat community, was arrested at his home at 10 a.m. Friday, the Sheriff's Office said. Investigators obtained a search warrant for the home after receiving a tip.

Yarand, who listed his occupation as self employed at a medical clinic, was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail on 12 charges. They include trafficking in meth and Ecstasy; keeping a public nuisance structure for drug activity; and possession of heroin, marijuana, counterfeit currency, controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.
