LARGO — Police have identified the two women who were found dead Feb. 8 inside a burning mobile home and say they suspect foul play in this case.

The bodies of Diane Marie Morrocco, 52, and Carol Ann Benton, 50, were found after firefighters extinguished the blaze on Lot 267 at the Avalon RV Resort at 16860 U.S. 19, according to Largo police.

The investigation is still ongoing. The origin of the fire is considered suspicious, police said Tuesday. Investigators said they have also found evidence that raises the possibility that the women died as a result of foul play, said Largo police Lt. Randall Chaney.

Police did not disclose any other details about the investigation, and detectives are waiting for more information from the medical examiner and state fire marshal.

"It will be many weeks until we are able to comment accurately on this case," Chaney said.
