Police locate burned car likely used in St. Petersburg slaying

ST. PETERSBURG — A car that was found burned late Monday night is likely the one seen on camera driving away following the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old St. Petersburg man.

The vehicle, which was reported stolen out of Orange County, was found around 11 p.m. after police responded to a vehicle fire at 1850 Juarez Way S.

Investigators determined the vehicle is likely the white Ford Fusion used in the death of Malik Oliver.

Oliver was found in an alley off 13th Avenue S near Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street on Sunday afternoon, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department. He was confirmed dead after taken to a nearby hospital.
