Police: Uber driver's gun discharges during fight at Adventure Island in Tampa

Published Jun. 26, 2017

TAMPA — An Uber driver's gun went off Sunday at Adventure Island during a fight between the driver and two passengers.

According to Tampa police, the driver, Julian Leon III, arrived about 4:50 p.m. to pick up Austin Korb, 23, and Skylar Korb, 27. Leon, 29, refused to drive them because they were wet. They got into a fight that became physical.

Leon, who police said felt in fear of his life, reached into his car and grabbed a gun. As the group struggled over the gun, a round was fired.

No one was hurt, according to police. No charges have been filed.
