HUDSON — A 34-year-old Port Richey man died when his car rolled over on U.S. 19 early Thursday and struck a concrete pole, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

William Joseph Henion of Port Richey died from his injuries at the scene, troopers said. He was not wearing his seat belt.

The incident took place at about 2:15 a.m. near the intersection of U.S. 19 and Stahl Drive. Henion was driving north on U.S. 19 in a 2008 Volkswagen Jetta when troopers said he lost control and veered off the roadway. The car drove from the inside lane and onto the east shoulder, then overturned, struck an electrical box and hit a concrete pole, troopers said.
