All southbound lanes on Interstate 75 have reopened in Tampa after a semi-trailer caught fire north of E Fletcher Avenue.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a semi-trailer carrying 5,000 pounds of new, but empty, Bang energy drink aluminum cans — labeled purple guava pear and peach mango — caught fire around 4:30 a.m. following a mechanical issue near the rear tandem axle. The fire then spread throughout the semi.

The driver, 45-year-old Emmen Ahmed of Henrico, Va., was not hurt, troopers said.

The lanes reopened around 8:15 a.m., troopers said.
