SPRING HILL — Hernando County deputies are looking for a man who robbed a Dollar General store Tuesday while hinting he had a gun.
Detectives with the Sheriff's Office believe the man may be connected to other armed robberies recently committed around central Florida.
The holdup occurred just before 9 p.m. inside the store at 3499 Mariner Blvd. in Spring Hill, the Sheriff's Office said.
Eyewitnesses told deputies a man entered the store, demanded money from the cashier and implied he was carrying a handgun. The witnesses described him as a white man wearing a black t-shirt, a dark jacket with the hood pulled over his head, black shorts and white, calf-high socks. The Sheriff's Office released an image from a security camera showing the man.
Deputies said the robber fled the store on foot before getting into a nearby parked vehicle and driving away.
