SEMINOLE — A 57-year-old St. Petersburg woman died late Thursday from injuries she suffered after was struck by a vehicle while trying to cross Seminole Boulevard, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash took place at about 7 p.m. on Seminole Boulevard near 61st Avenue N.

Felicia Wilkerson was crossing to the west side of Seminole Boulevard. The Sheriff’s Office said the area was poorly lit and she was not in a crosswalk.

Deputies said 43-year-old Alejandro Cruz Perez, of St. Petersburg, was headed south on Seminole Boulevard in a green 2001 Honda CRV.

The vehicle struck Wilkerson near 61st Avenue N. She was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, where she was pronounced dead just before midnight.

Perez was not injured in the crash. Deputies do not believe speed or impairment were factors in the crash.
