TAMPA — A homicide investigation was launched after the body of a man was discovered in a home on Tuesday night, according to Tampa police.

The report was made just before 7 p.m. at a residence in the 4300 block of W Oklahoma Avenue. A neighbor grew concerned about the victim after failing to see him over the weekend.

When the neighbor went to check on the victim, police said they found him dead inside the home. The victim appears to have suffered what police described as upper-body trauma.

The death does not appear to be the result of a random crime, police. But no other details about the incident were released by police, including the identity of the victim.
