Local businessman Bill Edwards sold one of the two Snell Isle properties he had listed for sale last year, and has taken the other off the market.
One of the two adjacent homes, called “Amanyara,” closed on Jan. 18 for $5.35 million, according to Multiple Listing Service data. Although it’s the smaller of the estates and was used primarily for entertaining guests, it clocks in at 8,033 total square feet, with five bedrooms, three full bathrooms and two half bathrooms, plus a fitness room, meditation room, media room, an atrium and heated pool, according to the listing.
“It’s a beautiful home,” said listing agent Dania Perry. “The folks who purchased it are very excited. We had multiple folks interested in it.”
Perry said the buyer was local.
Edwards said he decided to keep the larger home, called “Villa Terranova,” because there were some members of his family who weren’t ready to part with it. He and his family will continue to live at the property, which is 18,350 total square feet and has seven bedrooms, seven full bathrooms and two half bathrooms.
“My family, the kids ... they grew up there, so we’re hanging in,” he said. “It was just me trying to downsize — as I get older I’d like to do that — but not everyone in the family decided they wanted to.”
The compound had previously been listed jointly for $19,995,000 last year.
