American Legion Post 186 will sponsor the service for the victims and survivors of the Dorchester, an Army transport ship sunk during World War II. Honor will be paid to the four military chaplains of different faiths who gave their life jackets to save others. Guest speakers will be retired Maj. Gen. Monroe T. Smith and Col. Nick Morana. The church choir will sing patriotic songs and at the close of the service, four white doves donated by Downing Funeral Home will be released. Admission is free; refreshments will be provided.

Temple Beth David, 13158 Antelope St., will have its first Tot Shabbat Service at 7 p.m. Feb. 10.
