Speakers from Australia to attend women's conference

Two speakers from Hillsong Church in Sydney, Australia, will visit Wesley Chapel this weekend.

Margaret Stunt and Angela Bachtle, trainers at the famous Hillsong International Leadership College, will appear at Victorious Life Church's Sisterhood Women's Conference on Friday and Saturday.

The annual conference promises a dynamic and empowering worship experience.

"The underlying theme of the event is seeing what God can do in our world when we as women put God first," said Victorious Life women's pastor Janis Russo. "When God has first place in our lives, we are changed in the way we spend our time and our finances. Our relationships are impacted as well. We see the world through God's eyes and respond to others and to our individual circumstances with God's heart, compassion and generosity."

The conference will begin with check-in at 6 p.m. Friday, followed by an opening service from 7 to 9 p.m. Evening child care is available for children age 10 and younger. The night will include music and introductory messages.

On Saturday, guests can enjoy a continental breakfast at 8 a.m. Lecture sessions begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 4:30 p.m. The cost to attend is $49.

The sisterhood ministry at Victorious Life, led by Russo, meets at 10 a.m. Thursdays. The group participates in Bible study together, as well community activities. Russo, who co-founded Victorious Life in 1987 with her husband, Ed, will also speak Saturday at the conference.

Russo said she looks forward to hearing from the women of Hillsong, who travel the world sharing the gospel. Hillsong, known for producing the successful Christian recording group Hillsong United and achieving status as a global church, has worship centers on several continents.

Stunt, who appeared at last year's Sisterhood Conference, speaks about finding God's light in the world today. She will give the women at Victorious Life tools to improve their daily lives, Russo said.

"The messages attendees will hear will be both powerful and practical," she said.

Victorious Life Church is located at 6224 Old Pasco Road, Wesley Chapel. The church offers a classic worship service at 8:15 a.m. Sundays, followed by contemporary services at 9:30 and 11 a.m. and a 6 p.m. evening service.
