Don't talk to me. Mercury is in retrograde (w/video)

If you're someone who believes in astrology and looks for guidance in celestial bodies, then the next few weeks will be interesting.

That's because the planet Mercury is going into retrograde, which means that it'll look like it's traveling backward for about three weeks. It's just an illusion, scientists say, but nonetheless, it inspires a lot of hand-wringing.

Mercury retrograde was being written about in astrology circles as far back as the mid-18th century, according to Michele Debczak of

"Because the Roman god Mercury was said to govern travel, commerce, financial wealth, and communication, in astrological circles, Mercury the planet became linked to those matters as well," Debczak writes.

The website color codes the calendar for each sign, so you know when to expect the strongest effects from Mercury retrograde. It's about your "shadow" days.

Should you travel on a blue day? Maybe don't bring up a longstanding family argument on a red day?

Regardless, don't fret for long. Mercury rights itself and all is well after April 15.
