ST. PETERSBURG — A boat ran up on a jetty east of Demens Landing Park on Tuesday night, injuring the two people aboard.
A 911 call came in about 10:45 p.m. regarding the crash, said Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission spokesman Bryce Phillippi.
The two people aboard were taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg for treatment.
They were identified as Albert Cafaro, 55, of Tampa, and Kimberly Hayes, 54, of Valrico.
Phillippi didn’t disclose the extent of their injuries.
On Tuesday morning, the center console boat — about 19 feet long with a single outboard motor — was perched on rocks with the bow pointed upward at nearly a 45-degree angle. A tow boat motored up beside it.
The line of rocks that forms the jetty extends north from Albert Whitted Airport.
