ST. PETERSBURG — City officials are seeking volunteers to serve on boards and committees.
The vacancies are on the Civil Service, Nuisance Abatement, Code Enforcement and Social Service Allocation boards.
The Civil Service Board reviews disciplinary action levied against certain city employees. It works to determine if managers had sufficient cause to fire, demote and suspend employees.
The Nuisance Abatement Board regulates property where there are concerns of drug and gang activity, prostitution, or stolen property.
The Code Enforcement Board seeks to reduce blight and enforces city codes.
The Social Services Allocation Board makes funding recommendations to City Council for programs that improve the health, economic and social well-being of city residents.
Residents who are interested in serving on any of these boards should email email@example.com. Most boards meet monthly or on an as-needed basis.
