Motorcyclist, 62, dies after St. Petersburg crash

The collision happened at 34th Street N and Ninth Avenue N.

A 62-year-old motorcyclist died after a crash in St. Petersburg Friday night, police said.

According to police, a Nissan Sentra heading south on 34th Street N was making a left turn on Ninth Avenue N at 9 p.m. when it turned into the path of the motorcycle heading north. The driver, a Lake Panasoffkee man, died at the scene.

St. Petersburg Police are waiting to notify the man’s family before they identify him.
