Sarasota man, 95, dies from injuries in 2-vehicle St. Petersburg crash

The crash occurred at 10:30 a.m. March 3 on 34th Street North and Fifth Avenue North. Robert Kiefer died two days later at a hospital.

ST. PETERSBURG — A 95-year-old Sarasota man died from injuries in a crash that occurred when the driver of a vehicle in which he was riding turned left in front of an oncoming car, police said.

The crash occurred at 10:30 a.m. Thursday on 34th Street N at Fifth Avenue N. Robert Kiefer died two days later at a hospital.

Carolyn Kiefer, 84, of Sarasota, was headed north in a Chevrolet Equinox, turning left from the left-turn lane, when she entered the path of a southbound Toyota Camry and the vehicles collided. Carolyn Kiefer was seriously injured in the crash.

No other details were released.
