TAMPA — An 18-year-old man was shot outside the Fat Boy grocery store in Tampa. The suspect fled, and police are looking for him.

That’s according to a Saturday news release from the Tampa Police Department.

The victim, whom police did not name, was outside the grocery store on the 1300 block of E Osborne Avenue when the alleged shooter walked passed him. The shooter briefly entered the store, pulled a gun, left the grocery and then shot the victim twice, the release said.

The alleged gunman then fled on foot with a young boy, the release said. The shooting happened at about 3:10 p.m.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with “potentially life threatening injuries,” the release said. Police said the shooting doesn’t appear to be random.

The Tampa Police Department captured a picture of the suspect. Anyone who knows anything about the shooting has been asked to contact Tampa Police at 813-231-6130.
