Two lanes of Interstate 275 South were closed after a tractor trailer spilled buckets of paint onto the highway late Wednesday morning near Tampa.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Barry Anderson, 60, of Tampa was driving a 2020 Freightliner tractor trailer operated by Gardner Asphalt Corp. south on I-275, just south of I-4, around 11:30 a.m. when unsecured pallets of white paint fell from the truck’s open flatbed trailer.
Approximately 15 to 20 five-gallon paint buckets spilled onto the inside travel lane, center lane and inside paved shoulder.
The center and inside travel lanes were closed to traffic for much of the afternoon and evening as environmental crews work cleaned up the spill.
All lanes were reopened as of 11 p.m., according to the Highway Patrol.
