Tampa police seek armed man on bike robbing people in Ybor City

The man follows victims on a bicycle and robs them using a silver revolver, according to Tampa police.

TAMPA — Police are looking for an armed man on a bike seen robbing people at gunpoint in Ybor City.

A video image of the man was released on the Tampa Police Department’s Facebook page. He appears to be wearing a black hoodie with the hood pulled over his head and blue jeans while riding a red bicycle.

The man on the bike seen in this video recently pointed a small silver revolver at two people on the second floor of the Palm Avenue Parking Garage and tried to rob them, police said.

One of the victims attempted to wrestle the gun from him, police said, but the armed man biked away.

REPEAT OFFENDER: Police need your help. The suspect shown in this video pointed a small silver revolver at two victims on the 2nd floor of the Palm Avenue Parking Garage and demanded money. One of the victims unsuccessfully attempted to wrestle the suspect's gun from him. The suspect then fled the garage on a bicycle. The suspect is possibly related to a robbery near 19th St. N. and 7th Ave. E. (Business name is N/A) He is also possibly connected to an incident that happened in the parking lot behind Gaspars/Acropolis in the 1800 block of 7th Av E. The victims were walking to their vehicle, the suspect began following them on his bicycle. Once in the parking lot, the suspect pointed a silver revolver at the victims, deprived them of their property, and fled the scene on the bicycle. Tampa police say the man also could be responsible for a robbery that took place near 19th Street N and Seventh Avenue E. He could also be connected to an armed robbery that police said took place in the parking lot behind Gaspar’s Grotto and Acropolis in the 1800 block of Seventh Avenue E.

As two people walked to their vehicle, police said a man followed them on his bicycle. Once in the parking lot, he pointed a silver revolver at the people, robbed them and biked away.
