Tampa closes Ben. T. Davis, other beaches due to coronavirus threat

Four Tampa beaches, Ben. T. Davis, Davis Islands, Cypress Point and Picnic Island, will be closed to visitors until further notice.

In its continuing efforts against the spread of coronavirus, the City of Tampa is closing four beaches at sunset Wednesday.

Those beaches include:

• Ben T. Davis Beach, 7740 W Courtney Campbell Causeway

• Davis Islands Beach, 864 Severn Ave

• Cypress Point Beach, 5620 W Cypress St.

• Picnic Island Beach, 7409 Picnic Island Blvd.

Cypress Point Park and Picnic Island Park will also be closed, although the Picnic Island Park boat ramp will remain open.

The city beaches will remain closed until further notice. For more information, visit tampagov.net/covid-19.
