TAMPA — A 54-year-old woman was killed when she was thrown from a car involved in a Tuesday collision, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash took place about 4:12 p.m. at N Dale Mabry Highway and Lazy Lane in the Egypt Lake-Leto area.

The woman was riding in a car with a 24-year-old driver. They were headed east on Lazy Lane and drove up to a stop sign at N Dale Mabry Highway.

A 34-year-old man was driving a sedan south on N Dale Mabry. Then the 24-year-old driver turned left across N Dale Mabry Highway and entered the other car’s path, troopers said, causing the collision.

The woman was ejected from the car and died at the scene, troopers said. She was not wearing a seatbelt.

Both of the other drivers were wearing their seatbelts and were not injured. The Highway Patrol did not release the names of anyone involved in the crash.
