Tampa man killed after losing control of motorcycle, troopers say

The motorcyclist lost control, left the roadway, entered a grassy area, overturned, crossed into the westbound access road and struck a concrete barrier, troopers reported.

A Tampa man was killed Monday night after he lost control of a motorcycle at U.S. 301 and Interstate 4, Florida Highway Patrol troopers reported.

The crash occurred just before 9 p.m. as the motorcyclist was southbound on the entrance ramp from U.S. 301 to westbound I-4. The motorcyclist lost control, left the roadway, entered a grassy area, overturned, crossed into the westbound access road and struck a concrete barrier, troopers reported.

The man, who was not wearing a helmet, died at the scene. Troopers said he was 57 years old. His name was not released.
