Tampa man, 30, crushed by car when jack fails on I-275, troopers say

TAMPA — A 30-year-old Tampa man was crushed to death early Monday when a jack failed and he was crushed beneath the disabled car he was working on, Florida Highway Patrol said.

The man died as he was working beneath a 1997 Acura sedan just after midnight on the shoulder of I-275 south near Howard Avenue.

The Highway Patrol did not release the victim’s name.
