Motorcyclist dies after crash on MLK Boulevard in Tampa

The driver of a black Lincoln MKZ was turning left onto Riverside Drive N. when the car crossed into the lane of the motorcyclist, police said Friday.

TAMPA — A motorcyclist who was injured in a Feb. 17 crash on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard has died, Tampa police said Friday.

The man was driving a Honda motorcycle on MLK Boulevard when the driver of a black Lincoln MKZ crossed into his lane while turning left onto Riverside Drive N. around 8:27 p.m., the Tampa Police Department said in a news release.

The motorcyclist was knocked off of the bike upon impact, police said. He was taken to an area hospital, where he died Tuesday, according to the Friday afternoon release.

The Tampa Police Department did not provide any additional details about the motorcyclist or the driver of the Lincoln.

The crash is under investigation.
