The Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority announced Friday that several bus routes will return to pre-coronavirus service starting Sunday.
Eleven bus routes, plus the Suncoast Beach trolley and Central Avenue trolley, will resume normal service seven days a week, according to the county’s bus agency. Those routes make up about 43 percent of PSTA’s service, said spokeswoman Stephanie Rank.
The routes are:
- 4: Runs along Fourth Street N and S between Pinellas Point and the PSTA facility in the Carillon area.
- 9: Runs along Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street N between downtown St. Petersburg and the Gateway Market Center.
- 14: Runs along Gulfport Boulevard, 18th, 15th and Sixth Avenues S between Palms of Pasadena Hospital and downtown St. Petersburg.
- 18: Runs along Seminole Boulevard/Missouri Avenue N between downtown St. Petersburg and the Park Street Terminal in Clearwater.
- 19: Runs along U.S. 19 between the Largo Transit Center and Tarpon Springs.
- 34: Runs along 34th Street S and U.S. 19 between Eckerd College and the Largo Transit Center.
- 52/52LX: Runs along E Bay Drive and 49th Street N between downtown Clearwater and the Grand Central Station in St. Petersburg.
- 59: Runs along Ulmerton Road between Indian Rocks Beach and the PSTA facility.
- 60: Runs along Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard between the Park Street Terminal and Clearwater Mall, with intermittent service to McMullen Booth Access Road
- 74: Runs along Park Boulevard/74th Avenue N between Seminole City Center and Gateway Market Center.
- 78: Runs along Main Street/State Road 580 between Westfield Countryside mall and downtown Clearwater.
- Suncoast Beach Trolley: Runs along Gulf Boulevard between St. Pete Beach and downtown Clearwater.
- Central Avenue Trolley: Runs along Central Avenue between Bay Shore Drive NE and St. Pete Beach.
The remaining routes will operate at Saturday service levels Monday through Saturday, meaning the buses will run less frequently than typical weekday service.
PSTA will continue not to charge fares to reduce crowding at the fare box, according to the news release. Passengers will also be asked to board at the rear door if they’re able. Face coverings remain required for all passengers. For more information, visit www.psta.net.
