TAMPA — One man died and another was seriously injured when a pickup truck tumbled off Interstate 275 near the downtown exit after failing to follow a curve, troopers said.
The 3:15 a.m. crash shut down southbound I-275 lanes for about four hours.
The driver, a 34-year-old Tampa man, died in the crash, the Florida Highway Patrol said. A 35-year-old Oakland Park man riding with him received serious injuries. Both men were wearing seatbelts.
The pickup was headed south on I-275 when the driver missed the curve, spun out, hit a guardrail and overturned.
The driver was ejected. Troopers were working to notify his next of kin.
