LARGO — A transit hub serving three busy bus routes opened this month at the corner of U.S. 19 and Roosevelt Boulevard.

According to the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority, the Largo Transit Center serves riders on three routes: 19, which runs primarily on U.S. 19 between Tarpon Mall and Eckerd College; 52, which goes from the Park Street Terminal in downtown Clearwater to downtown St. Petersburg; and 79, which goes from a stop in Largo near Tri-City Plaza to downtown St. Petersburg.

The center costs $89,000 for four shelters, trash cans, benches and landing pads for those with disabilities, said the PSTA's Ashlie Handy. It was paid through a Federal Transit Administration grant. or (727) 540-1900 for information.
