ST. PETERSBURG — A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday morning after he was thrown from his bike while riding along 34th Street N.
At about 8:23 a.m., Thomas Bilicki, 48, was traveling southbound in the center lane when a 2012 Jeep Liberty driven by David Slaughter, 40, failed to notice him as the Jeep was making a left-hand turn onto Fifth Avenue N, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.
Slaughter crashed into the motorcycle as it crossed the intersection, police said. Bilicki was thrown into two other vehicles stopped in the eastbound lanes of Fifth Avenue, police said.
Bilicki was pronounced dead at Bayfront Health. The crash is still under investigation.
