CLEARWATER — The city will host four community forums this month to discuss proposed zoning updates and explain how the changes will guide the future development of the 7-mile stretch of the U.S. 19 corridor in Clearwater.
The goal of the zoning changes is to create a "thriving and prosperous corridor through future development," according to a city news release. The proposal would expand the types of land uses allowed, increase job opportunities through a single zoning district, streamline the approval process by permitting most uses at the staff level, and increasing accessibility for employees.
The open houses will take place:
On Monday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Bright House Field Media Room, 601 Old Coachman Road; Tuesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Countryside Library, 2642 Sabal Springs Drive; and twice on Wednesday at Holiday Inn Express, 2580 Gulf-to-Bay Blvd. from 9:30 to 11 a.m. and 5:30 to 7 pm.
