PLANT CITY — Law students from the University of Miami and Florida International University will conduct a legal clinic at St. Clement Catholic Church from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday to help young undocumented people apply for deferred action.
Deferred action is an immigration benefit that can lead to a driver's license, work permit and access to college. People from 15 to 29 who have lived in the United States since at least 2007, have completed or are currently in school, and do not have any serious criminal convictions are eligible.
The law students are altering their traditional spring break plans this week to help the "DREAMer" youths with free clinics across the state.
Participants should make an appointment at fldream.org and bring all the documents required for the application.
St. Clement Catholic Church is at 1104 N Alexander St.
