TEMPLE TERRACE — A severe thunderstorm breezed through the city early Friday afternoon, tearing the wall off of one company and knocking down numerous trees and power lines, according to WTSP-Ch. 10 meteorologist Jim Van Fleet.

"With the heat we've had, these storms are popping up," said Van Fleet, who added that the storm started around 3:15 p.m. and peaked minutes before 4 p.m., hanging over Temple Terrace near the Florida State Fairgrounds throughout its duration.

Although the storm passed quickly, the wind damage was so severe, it knocked down a wall at 5445 Bonacker Dr., home to a company that sells and prepares granite.

There were no injuries, Van Fleet said.
