Just as the Tampa Bay region was drying out from Hurricane Hermine, a tropical wave is forecast to bring heavy moisture and rain this week.
Today's rain chances are to 60 percent and temperatures will reach the upper 80s during the next few days.
The tropical wave, however, is unlikely to turn into a named system, and will only make for rainy conditions, said Jim Van Fleet, chief meteorologist for 10Weather WTSP.
Rain chances will reach 70 percent on Wednesday and 60 percent on Thursday, with a chance for two to three rounds of storms each day over the next three days, Van Fleet said.
Forecasters are also monitoring Tropical Storm Ian, which developed from Invest 94L on Monday, about 1,000 miles east of the Lesser Antilles. Van Fleet said the storm will be strong, but doesn't pose a threat to the coastal United States. He said it should stay in the open waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
