Clearwater tallies damages from Hurricane Irma

CLEARWATER — Hurricane Irma caused nearly $1 million of damage to city-owned property and about $322,000 of residential damage, according to an initial analysis from Assistant Clearwater Fire Chief Jevon Graham.

The Barefoot Beach House had about $140,000 of roof damage; the Clearwater Beach Marina and Downtown Marina had nearly $500,000 in damages combined; and Spectrum Field and Parks and Recreation facilities had damages.

Most of the major residential damage was focused on 30 manufactured homes, with minor damage to 385 other homes, Graham said.
