MIAMI — Hurricane Danny has grown to a Category 3 storm, according to a National Hurricane Center plane sent to investigate the compact storm Friday afternoon.
Sustained winds were estimated at 115 mph, forecasters said, although the storm was still expected to weaken later Friday as it moves into waters where conditions are less likely to fuel the hurricane.
