I’ll cast my vote for Trump

For my vote, I will cast mine for what I see as the lesser of two evils. We are avoiding the elephant in the room in my opinion — the probability that if Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is elected, vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris will be our president during Biden’s term. I cannot imagine her negotiating deals with world leaders, I cannot imagine her being the commander-in-chief of the greatest military in the world, nor can I imagine her leading us out of a pandemic and bringing back our economy. She certainly could not, in my opinion, negotiate a peace treaty in the Middle East.

I don’t think we are really thinking this through. He would have had my vote if he had chosen Amy Klobuchar. However, I am left with the thought of Harris becoming president, and I cannot cast my vote for that ticket. I will cast my vote for President Donald Trump because, through his narcissism and crass and crude remarks, he can lead us on the world stage and will better lead us into a resurgence of our formerly wonderful economy.

Be fair first, not second

Despite the fact that the Tampa Bay Times has recommended Democratic nominee Joe Biden for president, I think you continue to play into the hands of the Trump campaign on a too-regular basis. To give President Donald Trump a front-page headline like “Thunderous Return” for a super-spreader rally that took place closer to the other side of Florida is giving Trump the kind of free advertising that helped him win the presidency in 2016. I know that you are trying to walk a tightrope to give conservatives a reason to subscribe to the Tampa Bay Times in these desperate days for the newspaper business, but you owe it to all your readers to carefully assess the fairness of your entire coverage of the election.

Thank you, Tampa Bay Rays, for the fun and excitement these few weeks. I’m grateful for the distraction from all the loud noise and drama coming from the White House. I’m hoping your winning streak continues. We all need a break.

Is it karma?

In watching the Tampa Bay Rays and Houston Astros in the American League Championship Series, it almost seems as if Houston is having to deal with really bad karma. Perhaps because of their cheating and sign-stealing scandals? Maybe that’s exactly what’s happening to President Donald Trump in the presidential election?
