Tampa mayor

Ed Turanchik

I’m running for mayor of Tampa to build a more prosperous city. I have a record you can count on. My work helped save 65,000 acres of environmental lands and ended a generation of water wars. I championed building the Amalie Arena downtown, started the Armature Works project, and built award-winning affordable homes in West Tampa. I crafted the first regional commuter rail and Tampa Bay ferry plans, including the successful Cross Bay Ferry. I have a vision that works for our future. I want to build a complete transit system in just five years, the Tampa “Go Plan,” to get around congestion and build our future on. I will work to create an innovation economy with good jobs and a fair and just society with opportunities for everyone. And we must improve our schools. It’s time for Tampa to realize its full potential. It’s time to go with Ed Turanchik for mayor.

Tampa City Council

John Godwin

District 2, citywide

I’ve dedicated myself to service: as a foster parent, intel provider for our troops, coach for local schools, and member of local boards. I’m running for council because I care deeply about our community and have the energy and vision to make a difference.

I’m running in District 2 because we’ve been stuck with 26 years of regressive politics from the incumbent: he voted against fixing flooding, establishing an independent police department Citizen Review Board and decriminalizing marijuana; opposed protecting transgender individuals from discrimination, accompanying the vote with bigoted comments; and voted for bond deals that saddled us with $14 million/year deficits.

Tampa deserves better. We deserve a council that has the energy and knowledge to fix our transportation system, drive inclusivity, increase affordability, maintain growth, and serve our neighborhoods. We need to have higher expectations for City Council — let me show you what we can accomplish.

Tampa City Council

Joe Robinson

District 2, citywide

Voters should know that Joe Robinson is a fresh perspective and a successful licensed professional engineer, businessman and community advocate for the past 36 years. Not a career politician set in his ways for 26 years on Tampa City Council, but working for equity within our city budget, sustainable neighborhoods, historic preservation, safety, storm water, water quality, transportation, transit, economic development, affordable housing and public education for our community.

The time is now to take this complete experience as a professional engineer and serving for years on various boards such as the West Tampa CRA, CAC and Southwest Florida Water Management District basin boards to be a strong voice for Tampa’s citizens. I promise to have a listening ear and civility when governing.

I am asking voters to vote for “Joe” by mail, early and on March 5 and show that the voters still determine the leaders in Tampa.
