Page on return to Bucs: 'I want to be on the 53'

Eric Page was home in Ohio when his agent called Monday morning with the news he'd been hoping for: The Bucs were bringing him back.

The 23-year-old receiver, who was the Bucs' primary returner on punts and kickoffs last season, has been signed to the team's practice squad, but his goal is to be back in his old job as part of the active 53-man roster.

"I want to be on the 53," said Page, who is now challenging rookie Solomon Patton for return duties. "Last year, I was on the 53, so I know what to do. Just go out there, do my job. I think that's why they brought me in, to do my job."

Page had four catches for 68 yards last year in limited work at receiver, but he understands his best chance to play is on special teams, where he said he'll fill any role the coaches ask.

"If they want me to be a gunner, to be a 2 on kickoff, I'm willing to do whatever they ask to get on the field," he said.
