The Pasco County school district has a new person in charge of its office that oversees contract negotiations and employee investigations.
Kathy Scalise, who had been a supervisor in the Employee Relations Office, was appointed the department director late Friday, district spokeswoman Linda Cobbe said. She will be the third person to hold the job in two months.
Scalise replaces Paul Meeker, who resigned for personal reasons shortly after taking the post. He took the job from Betsy Kuhn, who was promoted to an assistant superintendent job.
Scalise comes into the directorship shortly before employee contract negotiations are set to resume, following a break to gather more information. A former teacher, she had led bargaining over the teachers' contract for the district for the past few years.
The change opens a supervisor position in Employee Relations. The district has already advertised the post, with applications due by Sunday.
