Jessica Ehrlich announced that she raised $112,963 in campaign contributions for the three-month-period ending Sept. 30.
A Democrat, Ehrlich is running for the seat that will be vacated by longtime U.S. Rep C.W. Bill Young. It's an extremely competitive seat, with about a dozen Republican and Democratic candidates expressing interest. But Ehrlich was running even before Young's surprise announcement last week that he would retire when his term ends in 2014. She ran against the congressman last year.
Ehrlich, a St. Petersburg attorney, said in a statement on Wednesday that "It is an honor to have such early support of our people-powered campaign."
