A contractor has been picked, but completion still two years away

Any updates on the Pinellas Bayway Bridge project? Are they finally replacing it?

The replacement project has begun. When we spoke to Kris Carson about the project last year, the state Department of Transportation was still selecting a design-build team. American Bridge Company was selected as the contractor for the $56.3 million project expected to be complete by summer 2021. The project includes replacing the existing two-lane bridge with a two-lane, high-level, fixed bridge, repaving the roadway from State Road 682 south to the new bridge and replacing a seawall south of the bridge along State Road 679, according to the state website.
