St. Petersburg resident recognized for service to long-term nursing home residents

St. Petersburg resident Barbara Timo is the recipient of the Mid and South Pinellas Council Ombudsman of the Year Award for her work with residents of nursing homes and other long-term care settings. She is also the recipient of the President's Silver Volunteer Service Award for almost 300 hours of service for long-term care residents.

"100 Women Who Care" Presents $11,700 to Shepherd's Village

100 Women Who Care of Pinellas County recently presented Shepherd's Village with a $11,400 donation. The charity will also receive a $5,000 matching gift from the Richard M. Schulze Foundation. Shepherd's Village is a Christian residential outreach of New Life Solutions in Pinellas County, providing programs and affordable housing for single mothers and their families who are facing crisis. A two-year program includes opportunities for spiritual and emotional healing, growth and training in various family, career/job and life skill disciplines.
